'''''Rhodophiala''''' was a genus of herbaceous, perennial and bulbous plants in the Amaryllis family (Amaryllidaceae, subfamily Amaryllidoideae<ref>{{cite web |last=Stevens |first=P.F. |title=Angiosperm Phylogeny Website: Asparagales: Amaryllidoideae |url=http://www.mobot.org/mobot/research/apweb/orders/asparagalesweb.htm#AllAma |accessdate=2013-06-15 }}</ref>). It consisted of about 30 South American species distributed in southern Brazil, Argentina, and, specially, in Chile. Most of the species are known colloquially as '''''añañuca'''''. It has now been submerged in ''Zephyranthes''.{{sfn|Garcia et al|2019}}

==Description== ''Rhodophiala'' species resemble small-flowered ''Hippeastrum'' or multiflowered ''Habranthus'' species. Their narrow parallel-sided leaves are unlike that of ''Hippeastrum'', more closely resembling that of ''Habranthus'' or ''Zephyranthes''.<ref name=PBS>{{cite web |last=Castillo |first=A. |year=2003 |url=http://www.pacificbulbsociety.org/pbswiki/index.php/Rhodophiala |title=Rhodophiala |publisher=Pacific Bulb Society |accessdate=2013-06-15 }}</ref>

== Taxonomy == ===Taxonomic history=== At one stage, ''Rhodophiala'' was considered a subgenus of the closely related ''Hippeastrum''.<ref name=Baker88>{{cite book|last=Baker|author-link=John Gilbert Baker|first=John Gilbert|title=Handbook of the Amaryllideæ including the Alstrœmerieæ and Agaveæ|date=1888|publisher=Bell|location=London|page=41|chapter-url=https://www.biodiversitylibrary.org/item/52710#page/59/mode/1up|accessdate=31 March 2014|chapter=Hippeastrum}}</ref>

Although as of February 2016 not yet accepted by the World Checklist of Selected Plant Families a number of species of ''Rhodophiala'' have been rehabilitated as ''Rhodolirium''.{{sfn|Munoz et al|2011}}{{sfn|Garcia et al|2014}}

=== Former species === This genus does not have any accepted species, since it is a synonym of ''Phycella'' Lindl.<ref name = "POWO, 2023">{{cite POWO |id=30002634-2 |title=''Phycella'' Lindl. |accessdate=29 March 2023}}</ref> Former species include:
