==History== After extensive and lengthy investigations of possible dam locations, construction of the Winburndale Dam began in 1931. It was constructed using Unemployment Relief funds during the Great Depression. As part of the construction of Winburndale Dam, a {{convert|21|km|mi|adj=on}} gravity-fed wood stave pipeline was built from the dam to Bathurst.<ref>{{Cite web |url=http://www.bathurst.nsw.gov.au/environment/water-and-sewer/307-water-filtration-a-reticulation# |title=Water Filtration Plant & Reticulation |access-date=2009-11-17 |archive-url=https://web.archive.org/web/20090713103615/http://www.bathurst.nsw.gov.au/environment/water-and-sewer/307-water-filtration-a-reticulation# |archive-date=2009-07-13 |url-status=dead }}</ref>
