== History == Until 18 July 2020, Chaplynka was the administrative center of Chaplynka Raion. The raion was abolished in July 2020 as part of the administrative reform of Ukraine, which reduced the number of raions of Kherson Oblast to five. In March 2022, a peaceful protest against the Russian occupiers was dispersed by Russian soldiers who shot at the civilians. Until 26 January 2024, Chaplynka was designated an urban-type settlement.
