{{Short description|Position in video or film production}} A '''production coordinator''' is a position in film, television or video production.

In Los Angeles, it is called '''production office coordinator''' and abbreviated '''POC''', and is a unionized position under the International Alliance of Theatrical Stage Employees (IATSE) and is governed by Local 871.<ref>{{cite web |url=http://www.ialocal871.org/|title=Local 871's website |publisher=Local 871|access-date=23 March 2012}}</ref> The IA bylaws state the POC's wage is "subject to negotiation with the Producer". Fringe benefits include inclusion with the (USA) industry's Motion Picture Industry Pension & Health Plans.<ref>{{cite web |url=http://www.mpiphp.org/faqs/pension_faqs.htm/ |title=Motion Picture Pension Plan FAQ |publisher=Motion Picture Industry Pension Plan |access-date=23 March 2012}}</ref>

Production coordinators are in charge of organizing the production office, writing and distributing crew lists, handing out scripts to cast and crew members, and dealing with transport captains. They often work directly with the production manager.<ref>{{cite web | url=https://www.screenskills.com/job-profiles/browse/film-and-tv-drama/production-management/production-coordinator-film-and-tv-drama/ | title=Production coordinator (Also known as production office coordinator (POC)) in the film and TV drama industries }}</ref>
