It is the location of the lymphoma in mantle cell lymphoma.

H&E stain]] Mantle zone expansion may be seen in benign, such as Castleman disease, and malignancy, ''i.e.'', Mantle cell lymphoma. Tcl-1 is expressed in the mantle zone.
