==History== After eMedia Investments and Platco Digital successfully launched its OpenView platform, they decided to expand their family of channels.<ref>{{Cite web|url=http://www.filmcontact.com/news/south-africa/openview-strengthens-its-offering-ebella-over-1-million-homes|title=OpenView strengthens its offering with eBella to over 1 million homes|date=February 27, 2018|website=FilmContact.com|access-date=February 4, 2019|archive-date=February 7, 2019|archive-url=https://web.archive.org/web/20190207014842/http://www.filmcontact.com/news/south-africa/openview-strengthens-its-offering-ebella-over-1-million-homes|url-status=dead}}</ref> With eExtra in particular being popular in airing telenovelas such as Santa Diabla, e.tv decided to bulk in on international dramas and series.
The launch was also because of a new local content channel on DStv called Moja Love, launched on 14 February 2015. The channel was centered to love and relationship seekers, to which e.tv created eBella to be a female-skewed channel.
eBella was terminated at the end of March 2019 due to low viewership. All content was moved to eExtra.<ref>{{Cite web|url=http://teeveetee.blogspot.com/2019/03/etv-ends-unsuccessful-ebella-channel-on.html|title=TV with Thinus: e.tv ends unsuccessful eBella channel on Openview and DStv a year after launch, telenovelas folded into eExtra from April.|date=2019-03-15|website=TV with Thinus|access-date=2019-03-15}}</ref>
