Yale, Ohio

==History== A post office called Yale was established in 1883, and remained in operation until 1903.<ref>{{cite web | url=http://www.postalhistory.com/postoffices.asp?task=display&state=OH&county=Portage | title=Portage County | publisher=Jim Forte Postal History | access-date=13 January 2016}}</ref> The community most likely was named after Yale University, according to local history.<ref>{{cite book|last=Overman|first=William Daniel|title=Ohio Town Names|url=https://babel.hathitrust.org/cgi/pt?id=mdp.39015015361465;view=1up;seq=162|year=1958|publisher=Atlantic Press|location=Akron, OH|page=146}}</ref> Besides the post office, Yale had a sawmill.

Yale was also the childhood home of famous actor Clark Gable.<ref>{{cite book|last1=Brown|first1=Robert C.|last2=Norris|first2=J. A large amount of money was donated to the township to keep this cemetery and graves tended for time immemorial.
