'''William Augustus Commerell''' (1 October 1822 – 19 November 1858) was an English first-class cricketer.
The son of John Williams Commerell and his wife, Sophia Commerell (née Bosanquet),<ref name=odnb>{{cite ODNB|url=http://www.oxforddnb.com/view/article/32520?docPos=1|title=John Edmund Commerell|year=2004 |doi=10.1093/ref:odnb/32520 |accessdate=22 August 2019}}</ref> he was born at Marylebone in October 1822. He was educated at Harrow School,<ref>{{cite book |title=The Harrow School Register, 1801-1893 |first=Reginald Courtenay |last=Welch |publisher=Longmans, Green |year=1894 |page=[https://archive.org/details/harrowschoolreg00schogoog/page/n50 36] |url=https://archive.org/details/harrowschoolreg00schogoog |language=en}}</ref> before going up to Corpus Christi College, Oxford.<ref name="BOOK">{{alox2|title=Commerell, William Augustus}}</ref> While studying at Oxford, he made his debut in first-class cricket for Oxford University in 1843, making two appearances at Oxford against the Marylebone Cricket Club (MCC) and Cambridge University.<ref name="FCM">{{cite web|url=https://cricketarchive.com/Archive/Players/36/36591/First-Class_Matches.html |title=First-Class Matches played by William Commerell |publisher=CricketArchive |accessdate=22 August 2019 |url-access=subscription}}</ref> He made further first-class appearances, in 1845 for the Gentlemen of England against the Gentlemen of Kent at Canterbury, and in 1846 for the MCC against the Surrey Club and for the Gentlemen of England against the Gentlemen of Kent.<ref name="FCM"/> After graduating from Oxford, he became a farmer at Slinfold in Sussex and served as a magistrate at Brighton. He died at Westminster in November 1858. His brother was Sir John Edmund Commerell, the Admiral of the Fleet.
