The Whiteswan Lakes are in the Northern Saskatchewan Administration District and are central to three nearby provincial parks: Narrow Hills Provincial Park to the east, Clarence-Steepbank Lakes Provincial Park to the north, and Candle Lake Provincial Park to the south.
