'''We are fed up!''' ({{langx|de|Wir haben es satt!}}) is the theme of a series of demonstrations in Germany against industrial livestock production and for more sustainable farming. The biggest demonstrations take place every year in Berlin since 2011<ref>[http://www.dw.de/protesters-in-berlin-call-for-an-end-to-factory-farming/a-14780207-1 Deutsche Welle, ''Protesters in Berlin call for an end to factory farming'', 22 January 2011]</ref> and attract up to 30,000 people.<ref>{{cite news|url=https://www.theguardian.com/books/2014/jan/29/farmageddon-cost-cheap-meat-lymbery-review|title=Farmageddon: The True Cost of Cheap Meat by Philip Lymbery – review|author=Tristram Stuart|work=the Guardian|date=31 January 2014 |accessdate=6 September 2015}}</ref><ref>{{cite web|url=http://www.dw.de/stopping-starvation-everyone-can-do-something/a-17155293|title=Stopping starvation: ′Everyone can do something′ - Germany - DW.COM - 14.10.2013|work=DW.COM|accessdate=6 September 2015}}</ref><ref>Shefali Sharma, [http://www.iatp.org/blog/201401/germans-speaking-out-against-industrial-meat-and-agriculture "Germans speaking out against industrial meat and agriculture"], Institute for Agriculture and Trade Policy, 9 January 2014.</ref> Around 120 different groups, which represent farmers, companies, and environmental rights and animal rights activists organize and sustain the demonstrations.<ref>{{cite web|url=http://www.cbc.ca/news/world/berlin-protests-focus-on-farming-and-food-safety-1.1316948|title=Berlin protests focus on farming and food safety|date=21 January 2013|publisher=|accessdate=6 September 2015}}</ref><ref>[http://www.wir-haben-es-satt.de/start/netzwerk/traegerinnen/ Wir haben es satt!] {{Webarchive|url=https://web.archive.org/web/20160708061848/http://www.wir-haben-es-satt.de/start/netzwerk/traegerinnen/ |date=2016-07-08 }}, website of the organizers (German)</ref> The protests take place parallel to the Berlin International Green Week.

==Overview== Independent from the protests in Berlin, demonstrations under a similar theme occurred in Amsterdam in 2012 and 2013. The event in the Netherlands was called ''we zijn het MEGA zat'', which translates to "we are MEGA fed up" and is a reference to the scale of industrial livestock farming.<ref>{{cite web|url=http://www.wezijnhetmegazat.nl/|title=We zijn het mega zat!!|accessdate=6 September 2015}}</ref><ref>{{Cite web |url=http://www.sp.nl/milieu/nieuwsberichten/11533/120309-manifestatie_we_zijn_mega_zat_ondersteund_door_sp.html |title=SP, ''Manifestatie 'We zijn het mega-zat' ondersteund door SP'', 9 March 2012 |access-date=1 February 2014 |archive-date=13 March 2012 |archive-url=https://web.archive.org/web/20120313032111/http://www.sp.nl/milieu/nieuwsberichten/11533/120309-manifestatie_we_zijn_mega_zat_ondersteund_door_sp.html |url-status=dead }}</ref><ref>PvDA, [http://www.pvda.nl/berichten/2012/03/Actie-Mega-Zat ''Kom naar actie tegen megastal'', 12.
