==History== It was founded in the 12th century approximately {{convert|7|km|sp=us}} from its present location.{{citation needed|date=September 2014}} It was granted town status in 1777.{{citation needed|date=September 2014}} During the Battle of Moscow in 1941, the town fell to the 2nd Panzer Group under Heinz Guderian on 24 November 1941. The short German occupation lasted until 9 December 1941, when Venyov was liberated by troops of the Western Front of the Red Army.
