He was elected to the National Assembly of Pakistan as a candidate of Jamiat Ulema-e-Islam (F) (JUI-F) from Constituency NA-260 (Quetta-cum-Chagai-cum-Nushki-cum-Mastung) in by-polls held in July 2017.
