Therefore when the original residents filled out the application they put "Uncertain" in the blank for the name. ==Geography== thumb|left|Uncertain Flea Market, 2017 Uncertain is in the northeastern corner of Harrison County, at the west end of Caddo Lake, a water body on Big Cypress Bayou that extends east into Louisiana. The city is at the east end of Farm to Market Road 2198, which leads southwest {{convert|5|mi|0}} to State Highway 43 near Karnack. Uncertain is {{convert|21|mi}} northeast of Marshall, the Harrison county seat.

According to the United States Census Bureau, the city has a total area of {{convert|1.3|km2|order=flip}}, of which {{convert|996|sqm|acre|order=flip|1}}, or 0.08%, are water.<ref name="Census 2010"/>

As of the 2020 census, Uncertain had a population of 85. The median age was 60.2 years. 2.4% of residents were under the age of 18 and 37.6% of residents were 65 years of age or older. There were 55 households in Uncertain, of which 23.6% had children under the age of 18 living in them. Of all households, 43.6% were married-couple households, 25.5% were households with a male householder and no spouse or partner present, and 30.9% were households with a female householder and no spouse or partner present. About 36.4% of all households were made up of individuals and 18.2% had someone living alone who was 65 years of age or older.<ref name="Census2020DP"/>

There were 124 housing units, of which 55.6% were vacant. The homeowner vacancy rate was 6.1% and the rental vacancy rate was 9.1%.<ref name="Census2020DP"/>
