The '''Tumlare''' (lit. Porpoise) is a class of canoe-sterned (or 'double-ended') yacht designed by Knud Reimers. The design dates from the early 1930s (1933 from a majority of sources; No. 1, ''Aibe'' was built the next year for Bengt Kinde).<ref>{{cite web |url=http://forum.woodenboat.com/showthread.php?13680-AIBE-S1-TUMLAREN|title=AIBE, S1 TUMLAREN|work=woodenboat.com |access-date= 4 February 2018}}</ref> The Tumlare is {{convert|8.30|m}} overall;<ref>{{cite book |last1=Bremberg |first1=Fred |last2=Seth |first2=Staffan |title=Segelbåtstyper: kortfattade beskrivningar med igenkänningstecken och dimensionsuppgifter för svenska segelbåtar |trans-title=Sailboat types: brief descriptions with identifying marks and dimensions for Swedish sailboats |edition=2nd revised |year=1965 |publisher=Aldus/Bonnier |place=Stockholm |language=sv| page=51 }}</ref> the design was strongly endorsed as a 'very advanced type' by Uffa Fox who was especially interested in the composite method of construction employed, with metal frames interspersed between the timber ones.<ref name = VBCCs>{{cite book |title= Classic Classes |author=Vanessa Bird |page = 150 |isbn=9781934982075}}</ref>
