It is near the east shore of the island, between Maritime Square and Tsing Yi Sports Ground. Currently, it is managed by the Leisure and Cultural Services Department of Hong Kong Government.

==History== The swimming pool was built and planned at the same time as the adjacent Tsing Yi Sports Ground. Both facilities were designed by the Architectural Services Department and planned by the former Regional Council.<ref name="regco921230">{{cite web|title=60LS - Swimming Pool Complex and 199LS - Sportsground, Area 3, Tsing Yi Upgrading to Category II|publisher=Regional Council|date=30 December 1992|url=https://mmis.hkpl.gov.hk///c/portal/cover?c=QF757YsWv58Yqo5UOBAva1ZN41UfNRn8}}</ref> The site was also supposed to accommodate an indoor recreation centre, but it was thought that the development would be too cramped and so the centre was deleted from the plans in 1992.<ref name="regco921230"/>

The pool complex was designed with a capacity of 1,000 swimmers. It opened on 30 September 1996.<ref name="regco19961107">{{cite web |title=Minutes of the One Hundred and Fifteenth Meeting of the Recreation and Culture Select Committee of the Regional Council held on Tuesday, 8 October 1996 at 2:30 p.m. in the Main Chamber on the 1/F of the Regional Council Building |url=https://mmis.hkpl.gov.hk///c/portal/cover?c=QF757YsWv58Yqo5UOBAva0WxsaZ8i3jD |publisher=Regional Council Secretariat |location=Shatin, Hong Kong |page=15 |date=7 November 1996}}</ref>
