His father, Subarnachandra, was a vassal to the earlier rulers of the Harikela Kingdom. Traillokyachandra established the dynasty, centered at Devaparvata (near Mainamati, Comilla) and expanded into modern Kachua Upazila before declaring himself as Maharajadhiraja.
