The '''toadfish goby''' ('''''Cryptopsilotris batrachodes''''') is a species of bony fish in the family Gobiidae which is found in areas of sandy substrates among coral reefs.<ref name = FishBase>{{FishBase|Crytopilotris|batrachodes|month=June|year=2018}}</ref> It occurs in the western Atlantic Ocean from the Bahamas south through the Caribbean Sea as well as along the Central and South American coast from Belize to Santa Marta, Colombia.<ref name = IUCN/> It is the only species in the monotypic genus ''Cryptopsilotris'',<ref name = CoF>{{Cof record|spid=24672|title=''Cryptopsilotris batrachodes''|access-date=24 August 2018}}</ref> although it was formerly classified under ''Psilotris'' and its generic name means "hidden ''Pilotris''", meaning that it was hidden within that genus.<ref name = ETYFish>{{cite web | url = http://www.etyfish.org/gobiiformes4/ | title = Order GOBIIFORMES: Family GOBIIDAE (a-c) | access-date= 19 August 2018 | author1 = Christopher Scharpf | author2 = Kenneth J.
