Timberlake is nearly completely surrounded by Eastlake, with one entrance to the village coming through Lakeline, and the remaining portion bordering Lake Erie.

The racial makeup of the village was 96.3% White, 0.6% African American, 0.6% Native American, 0.6% Asian, 1.2% from other races, and 0.7% from two or more races. Hispanic or Latino of any race were 2.4% of the population.
There were 295 households, of which 22.7% had children under the age of 18 living with them, 58.6% were married couples living together, 7.8% had a female householder with no husband present, 3.4% had a male householder with no wife present, and 30.2% were non-families. 26.4% of all households were made up of individuals, and 10.8% had someone living alone who was 65 years of age or older. The average household size was 2.29 and the average family size was 2.75.

The racial makeup of the village was 99.10% White, 0.26% Asian, 0.26% from other races, and 0.39% from two or more races. Hispanic or Latino of any race were 1.42% of the population. 20.6% were of German, 16.4% Italian, 10.7% Irish, 8.0% Slovene, 5.7% English and 5.6% Polish ancestry according to Census 2000.
There were 309 households, out of which 24.3% had children under the age of 18 living with them, 63.4% were married couples living together, 6.5% had a female householder with no husband present, and 26.9% were non-families. 23.3% of all households were made up of individuals, and 7.4% had someone living alone who was 65 years of age or older.
