==Biography== Hannay was educated at the University of Liverpool and Queens' College, Cambridge<ref>“Who was Who” 1897-2007 London, A & C Black, 2007; {{ISBN|978-0-19-954087-7}}</ref> and ordained in 1910.<ref>The Times, Monday, 26 September 1910; pg. 12; Issue 39387; col C ''Ordinations. Wakefield''</ref> He began his career with a curacy in Holmfirth<ref>Crockford's Clerical Directory1947-48 Oxford, OUP, 1948</ref> after which he with the Universities’ Mission to Central Africa in Nyasaland. In 1927, he came to the College of the Resurrection, Mirfield and was its Principal from 1933 to 1941.
