On 26 January 2024, The Reytons released their third studio album ''Ballad of a Bystander''. Following a heated chart battle with James Arthur, the album lost out on the number one spot in what was reported to be controversial circumstances when the band were deducted over 2,000 chartable sales "following an industry complaint".<ref>{{Cite web |last=Wilkes |first=Emma |date=2024-02-02 |title=The Reytons claim they're this week's true Number One album after Official Charts Company "rejected" sales: "We have sold the most albums in the UK this week" |url=https://www.nme.com/news/music/the-reytons-claim-theyre-this-weeks-true-number-one-album-after-official-charts-company-rejected-sales-we-have-sold-the-most-albums-in-the-uk-this-week-3581427 |access-date=2024-09-16 |website=NME |language=en-GB}}</ref>
The Reytons played their biggest show to date on 6 July 2024, with a 20,000 capacity sold-out concert in Rotherham's Clifton Park. Dubbed 'Disneyland' by the band's fans, it is the biggest live music event the town has hosted, and the most notable since T-Rex played the park's bandstand in 1971.<ref>{{Cite web |last=Beddows |first=David |date=10 July 2024 |title=Clifton Park was Disneyland: The Reytons and fans lap up homecoming gig |url=https://www.rotherhamadvertiser.co.uk/news/people/clifton-park-was-disneyland-the-reytons-and-fans-lap-up-homecoming-gig-4693669 |access-date=16 September 2024 |website=Rotherham Advertiser}}</ref><ref>{{Cite web |last=Marshall |first=Sarah |date=7 July 2024 |title=Pictures capture The Reytons' spectacular homecoming sell-out show at Rotherham's Clifton Park |url=https://www.thestar.co.uk/news/pictures-capture-the-reytons-spectacular-homecoming-show-at-rotherhams-clifton-park-4693559 |access-date=16 September 2024 |website=The Star}}</ref> A study by Sheffield Hallam University revealed that the event contributed £1 million to Rotherham’s economy and £1.36 million benefit for South Yorkshire. <ref>{{Cite web |last=Wild |first=Gabrielle |title=The Reytons return home gave a massive boost for Rotherham |url=https://www.rotherham.gov.uk/news/article/1060/the-reytons-return-home-gave-a-massive-boost-for-rotherham |access-date=2024-09-21 |website=Rotherham Metropolitan Borough Council |language=en}}</ref>
In September 2024, the band revealed that former England and Manchester United footballer Gary Neville had joined the band in support of an upcoming UK & Ireland headline tour, although this was later revealed to be only part of a promotional campaign for the tour. <ref>{{Cite web |last=Dunworth |first=Liberty |date=2024-09-16 |title=Gary Neville to join The Reytons for 2025 'Right Back At It' UK tour |url=https://www.nme.com/news/music/gary-neville-to-join-the-reytons-for-2025-right-back-at-it-uk-tour-3794112 |access-date=2024-09-16 |website=NME |language=en-GB}}</ref><ref>{{Cite web |title=Is Gary Neville joining The Reytons for their 2025 Right Back At It UK tour? |url=https://www.radiox.co.uk/news/music/gary-neville-to-join-the-reytons-for-2025-tour-tickets/ |access-date=2024-09-16 |website=Radio X |language=en}}</ref>
