The Horror Section is an American media company based in West Hollywood, California.
History
The Horror Section was founded by filmmaker and actor Eli Roth. Jon Schnaars serves as co-founder and chief executive officer. Christopher Woodrow was appointed chairman of The Horror Section.[1] At the launch, Horror Section sold a 10% stake in the company to over 2,000 fans on the investment platform Republic.[2][3]
In March 2025, Horror Section acquired the distribution rights to Jimmy and Stiggs, a horror feature written and directed by Joe Begos, which was released theatrically on August 15, 2025.[4]
In May 2025, The Horror Section co-financed and produced Ice Cream Man, which was written and directed by Roth.[5] After making its debut at the Cannes Market, StudioCanal's Sixth Dimension acquired distribution rights to the film across the U.K., Germany, France, Benelux, Poland, Australia, and New Zealand.[6][7] Ice Cream Man is scheduled for a theatrical release in 2026.[8] During the Cannes Market, The Horror Section also signed a multi-year, multi-picture co-financing and production alliance with Construction Film, the German-based production banner founded by Veronica Ferres.[9]
In August 2025, as part of its pre-release marketing campaign, the company released two faux horror trailers: The Piano Killer, attached to theatrical prints of Jimmy and Stiggs, and Don't Go In That House, Bitch!, narrated by Snoop Dogg.[10]
In September 2025, The Horror Section announced at the Toronto International Film Festival that it would co-finance and produce Don’t Go in That House, Bitch!, which would be written and directed by Roth. Snoop Dogg will be a producer as well as writer and performer on the original soundtrack. The film will begin principal photography in 2026. Don’t Go in That House, Bitch! is scheduled for a theatrical release in 2027.[11] Later in the month, The Horror Section also partnered with Blackcraft Cult to support merchandising for the Horror Section and its films.[12]
