[[Location shooting]] took place at Berlin's [[Tempelhof Airport]] and on [[Heligoland]]. It was made by [[Cine-Allianz]] and a number of those involved including its director, producers, screenwriter and star Anton Walbrook soon after left [[Nazi Germany]] due to their [[Jewish]] backgrounds.
