== Plot == The film takes place in Barcelona in 1978. Incensed by the contempt faced by impoverished Extremaduran and Andalusian immigrant communities in the city outskirts, bus driver Manolo Vital hijacks a vehicle of the 47 bus line, in order to debunk the local government's lie that buses could not reach the {{lang|ca|Torre Baró}} neighborhood.<ref>{{Cite web|url=https://metropoliabierta.elespanol.com/nou-barris/20230626/arranca-el-rodaje-de-el-en-barrio-torre-baro-barcelona/774422659_0.html|website=Metrópoli Abierta|via=El Español|date=26 June 2023|title=Arranca el rodaje de 'El 47' en el barrio de Torre Baró de Barcelona}}</ref><ref name="hobbyconsolas">{{Cite web|website=HobbyConsolas|date=14 June 2024|first=Javier|last=Cazallas|title=El 47, la película basada en hechos reales de Marcel Barrena, ya tiene fecha de estreno en cines|url=https://www.hobbyconsolas.com/noticias/47-pelicula-basada-hechos-reales-marcel-barrena-ya-tiene-fecha-estreno-cines-1391104}}</ref><ref>{{Cite web|url=https://variety.com/2023/tv/global/the-mediapro-studio-marcel-barrena-1235657696/|website=Variety|date=29 June 2023|title=The Mediapro Studio, 'Mediterraneo' Director Marcel Barrena Begin Filming Social Justice Drama 'The 47' in Barcelona|first=Holly|last=Jones}}</ref>

Philipp Engel of ''La Vanguardia'', rated the film 3 out of 5 stars, declaring it a "good film, full of good intentions as it appeals to solidarity and civil movements" [rallying no other banner] "than that of just causes", while also pointing out that "it never ceases to be a conventional and predictable" story.<ref>{{Cite web|website=La Vanguardia|date=6 September 2024|url=https://www.lavanguardia.com/cultura/cine/20240906/9913541/bitelchus-47-otros-estrenos-semana.html|title=El motor de un autobús|first=Philipp|last=Engel}}</ref>
The film did not fully please the colleagues of Manolo Vital in neighborhood and political activism; they criticised a biased narrative in the film depicting Vital as a lone hero, shunning his membership in the Workers' Commissions (CC.OO.) and the Unified Socialist Party of Catalonia (PSUC).<ref>{{Cite web|website=El Periódico de Catalunya|date=9 April 2025|first=Toni|last=Sus|title=CCOO 'secuestra' otra vez el bus 47 para denunciar que la película sobre Manolo Vital oculta que era del sindicato|publisher=Prensa Ibérica|url=https://www.elperiodico.com/es/barcelona/20250409/ccoo-secuestra-vez-bus-47-recordar-manolo-vital-psuc-barcelona-116211651}}</ref>
