==History== Tan Chuk Hang Lo Wai is a walled village that appeared in the 1688 edition of the ''Gazetteer of Xin'an County''. It was therefore probably established before 1688.<ref name="Environmental Impact Assessment"/>

Tan Chuk Hang is part of the Four Yeuk ({{zh|t=四約|l=Four Villages Alliance|labels=no}}), which comprises Loi Tung, Lung Yeuk Tau, Lin Ma Hang and Tan Chuk Hang. At the time of the 1911 census, the population of Sheung Tan Chuk Hang was 102.
