Syumsinsky District (Russian: Сюмси́нский райо́н; udm: Сюмси ёрос, Sjumsi joros) is an administrative[1] and municipal[2] district (raion), one of the twenty-five in the Udmurt Republic, Russia. It is located in the west of the republic. The area of the district is 1,789.7 kilometers (1,112.1 mi).[3] Its administrative center is the rural locality (a selo) of Syumsi.[4] Population: 16,288 (2002 Census);[5] The population of Syumsi accounts for 39.7% of the district's total population.[6]
