== Boundaries == The constituency encompasses [[Bishwamvarpur Upazila|Bishwamvarpur]] and [[Sunamganj Sadar Upazila|Sunamganj Sadar]] upazilas.<ref name="ecs" />
== History == The constituency was created in 1984 from a Sylhet constituency when the former Sylhet District was split into four districts: [[Sunamganj District|Sunamganj]], [[Sylhet District|Sylhet]], [[Moulvibazar District|Moulvibazar]], and [[Habiganj District|Habiganj]].<ref name="district-stats" />
Ahead of the [[2008 Bangladeshi general election|2008 general election]], the [[Bangladesh Election Commission|Election Commission]] redrew constituency boundaries to reflect population changes revealed by the [[2001 Bangladesh census]].<ref name="Rahman2010" /> The 2008 redistricting altered the boundaries of the constituency.<ref name="ds11Jul2008" />
