Stuart McNeill was born in Emo, Rainy River District, Ontario, the son of teacher Clifford Stuart McNeill and Edith Florence Nordin. He graduated from Port Arthur Collegiate Institute and McMaster University and practiced as an orthpedic surgeon at Stratford, Ontario for many years.
