The '''Spilopyrinae''' are a small subfamily of the leaf beetles, or Chrysomelidae. They occur in Argentina, Australia, New Guinea, New Caledonia and Chile.<ref>{{cite journal|last1=Elgueta|first1=M.|last2=Daccordi|first2=M.|last3=Zoia|first3=S.|year=2017|title=Lista de las especies de Spilopyrinae y Eumolpinae (Coleoptera: Chrysomelidae) de Chile|url=http://www.chrysomelidae.it/Chrysomelidae/pubblicazioni-pdf-scaricabili/76-Elgueta%20Daccordi%20Zoia%202017%20Bol%20Mus%20Chile%2066%2067-84.pdf|journal=Boletín del Museo Nacional de Historia Natural, Chile|volume=66|pages=67–84|doi=10.54830/bmnhn.v66.n1.2017.73 |s2cid=255713904 |language=Spanish}}</ref> They were formerly considered a tribe of the subfamily Eumolpinae. The group was elevated to subfamily rank by C. A. M. Reid in 2000.<ref>{{cite journal|last=Reid|first=C. A.
