The '''Hirth F-36''' is a single-cylinder, two-stroke, carburetted aircraft engine designed for use on ultralight aircraft, especially powered paragliders and ultralight trikes. It is noted for its extremely small equipped weight of {{convert|28|lb|kg|0|abbr=on}} including exhaust system, reduction drive and carburetor. It is manufactured by Hirth of Germany.<ref name="F36">{{cite web|url = http://www.recpower.com/F-36%202%20cycle%2015hp.htm|title = F-36 2 cycle 15hp |access-date = 17 January 2012|last = Recreational Power Engineering }}</ref>

The F-36 was formerly known as the '''Solo 210''', before the design was purchased by Hirth.<ref name="Easy">{{cite web|url = http://www.pioneerflyer.com/Easyriser.html|title = Current EasyRiser Info |access-date = 2009-12-20|last = Moody |first = John K. |year = 2002}}</ref><ref name="Buggy">{{cite web|url = http://curedcomposites.netfirms.com/hangbuggy.html|title = Hang Buggy|access-date = 2009-12-20|last = Cured Composites|archive-url = https://web.archive.org/web/20100406041704/http://curedcomposites.netfirms.com/hangbuggy.html|archive-date = 2010-04-06|url-status = dead}}</ref>

==Development== The engine uses free air cooling, single capacitor discharge ignition, with a single integral pump-type carburettor. The cylinder walls are electrochemically coated with Nikasil. Standard starting is recoil start with electric start optional. A quadruple V belt reduction drive system is an option with ratios of 1.8:1, 2.0:1 or 2.5:1.<ref name="F36" />

The engine runs on a 50:1 pre-mix of unleaded 93 octane auto fuel and oil and produces {{convert|15|hp|kW|0|abbr=on}} at 6000 rpm.<ref name="F36" /> <!-- ==Operational history== -->
