The '''Sikorsky S-2''' was the second fixed-wing aircraft designed by Igor Sikorsky using the main wing section from the S-1 and a {{convert|25|hp|kW|0|abbr=on|order=flip}} Anzani 3 three-cylinder engine in a tractor configuration. During the first flight attempt on June 3, 1910, the biplane reached a height of two to four feet and traveled approximately {{convert|200|yd|m|sigfig=1|order=flip|abbr=on}}. After several successful flights, the S-2 was destroyed on June 30 when Sikorsky inadvertently stalled the underpowered aircraft at an altitude of {{convert|70|ft|m|-1|order=flip|abbr=on}}.<ref name=winged>{{cite book |last=Sikorsky |first=Igor|title=The Story of the Winged-S|year=1944|publisher=Dodd, Mead & Company|location=New York|isbn=9781258163556|page=41}}</ref>
