== Legal career ==

After graduation from law school, Myren began practicing law in Denver, Colorado. Myren began his judicial career as an administrative law judge after being appointed by Governor Walter Dale Miller.<ref name="KOTA"/> From 1999 to 2004 Myren served as a Magistrate Judge for the Sixth Judicial Circuit.<ref name="LMSD" /> In 2004, he was appointed as a Circuit Judge for the Fifth Judicial Circuit by Governor Mike Rounds. In 2014 he became the Presiding Judge and served until his appointment to the South Dakota Supreme Court.<ref name="LMSD" />
