It is located in [[Nares Strait]] by eastern [[Ellesmere Island]]'s [[Darling Peninsula]], west of [[Nunatami]], [[Greenland]].

The bay is named in honour of [[William Scoresby]], an English [[Arctic]] explorer and scientist.
