==Playing career== As a youth, Goc played in the 1992 and 1993 Quebec International Pee-Wee Hockey Tournaments with a team from Baden-Württemberg.<ref>{{cite web|url=https://www.publicationsports.com/ressources/files/439/Joueurs_Pro.pdf|title=Pee-Wee players who have reached NHL or WHA|year=2018|website=Quebec International Pee-Wee Hockey Tournament|access-date=2019-02-02|archive-date=2019-03-06|archive-url=https://web.archive.org/web/20190306085544/https://www.publicationsports.com/ressources/files/439/Joueurs_Pro.pdf|url-status=dead}}</ref>

Goc was drafted 157th overall by the New Jersey Devils in the 1997 NHL entry draft where he played 13 games without scoring a point and collecting four penalty minutes{{citation needed|date=February 2019}}. On November 9, 2001, he was traded by the Devils, along with Josef Boumedienne and Anton Butt to the Tampa Bay Lightning for Andrei Zyuzin. He played in nine games with the Lightning without scoring a point. While in North America he also played in the American Hockey League for the Albany River Rats and the Springfield Falcons.{{citation needed|date=February 2019}} In 2002, he went back to Germany to play for Adler Mannheim and before moving to Hannover, where he scored 17 goals and 13 assists for 30 points in 50 games in 2005–06.{{citation needed|date=February 2019}}

On February 1, 2011, in his sixth season with the Scorpions, Goc signed a further two-year contract extension to remain in Hannover.<ref>{{cite web| url = http://www.hannoverscorpions.de/scorpions-aktuell.php?nid=752 | title = Sascha Goc renews as a Scorpion! | publisher = Hannover Scorpions | date = 2011-02-01 | accessdate = 2011-03-31 | language = German}}</ref>

After the Scorpions ceased operations in the DEL, Goc returned to his original club, the Schwenninger Wild Wings, who coincidentally bought Hannover's license to return to the DEL on July 18, 2013.<ref>{{cite web | url = http://www.wildwings.de/web/aktuell/detailansicht/zwei-neuzugaenge-fuer-die-wild-wings-4188/ | title = Goc and Rodman switch to Schwenningen | website = Schwenninger Wild Wings | date = 2013-07-18 | accessdate = 2013-07-18 | language = German | archive-date = 2013-07-21 | archive-url = https://web.archive.org/web/20130721192512/http://www.wildwings.de/web/aktuell/detailansicht/zwei-neuzugaenge-fuer-die-wild-wings-4188/ | url-status = dead }}</ref>
