'''Sakkottai''' is a neighbourhood of Kumbakonam Municipal Corporation of Thanjavur district, Tamil Nadu, India. The neighbourhood is famous for the Amirthakadeswarar Temple. Popular Indian historian S. Krishnaswami Aiyangar and Manimekalai Sukumar Mudaliyar hailed from Sakkottai. In older days it was known as "Savvukottai".
