'''Saburrus''' ({{floruit|663}}) was a Byzantine military leader of Persian descent who served under Emperor Constans II ({{reign}}641–668).{{sfn|Shukurov|2023b|page=137}}{{sfn|Shukurov|2023a|page=205}} He commanded a force of 20,000 soldiers in an operation against the Lombard Duchy of Benevento, but after suffering defeat at Forino, he retreated to Naples.{{sfn|Shukurov|2023b|page=137}} His name appears only in the ''History of the Lombards'' by Paul the Deacon and is likely a variation of the Greek names {{lang|grc|Σαπώρης}}, {{lang|grc|Σαβώριος}}, or {{lang|grc|Σαβόριος}}, all of which are derived from the Middle Persian {{lang|pal-Latn|Shābuhr}}{{emdash}}from which the New Persian {{Transliteration|fa|Shapur}} ({{lang|fa|شاپور}}) originates.{{sfn|Shukurov|2023b|page=137}}
