The '''Sabaki languages''' are the [[Bantu languages]] of the [[Swahili Coast]], named for the [[Athi-Galana-Sabaki River|Sabaki River]]. In addition to [[Swahili language|Swahili]], Sabaki languages include [[Ilwana language|Ilwana]] (Malakote) and [[Pokomo language|Pokomo]] on the [[Tana River (Kenya)|Tana River]] in Kenya, [[Mijikenda language|Mijikenda]], spoken on the Kenyan coast; [[Comorian language|Comorian]], in the Comoro Islands; and [[Mwani language|Mwani]], spoken in northern Mozambique.<ref name="nursehinnebusch"/> In [[Guthrie classification of Bantu languages|Guthrie's geographic classification]], Swahili is in Bantu zone G, whereas the other Sabaki languages are in zone E70, commonly under the name ''Nyika.''
