==Career==

===Pomp&Clout=== Staake founded design and video practice, Pomp&Clout.

==="Wyclef Jean"=== Staake edited and directed the music video for the Young Thug song "Wyclef Jean." The video only features Young Thug for a few seconds, after the $100k shoot was derailed by Thug arriving late, then refusing to get out of his car because his "Instagram account was hacked."<ref>{{cite news|last1=Welsh|first1=April Clare|title=Young Thug's 'Wyclef Jean' video is a hilarious $100K disaster|url=http://www.factmag.com/2017/01/17/watch-young-thug-wyclef-jean-video/|accessdate=18 May 2017|work=FACT Magazine: Music News, New Music.|date=17 January 2017}}</ref> Instead of abandoning the project after Thug failed to show up, co-director Staake completed a snarky cut that shows how the video fell apart and breaks down the rise and fall of the video's creation.<ref>{{cite news|last1=Klinkenberg|first1=Brendan|title=How Young Thug's Insane "Wyclef Jean" Video Got Made|url=http://www.complex.com/music/2017/01/young-thug-video-director-interview|accessdate=16 May 2017|work=Complex|date=Jan 17, 2017|language=en}}</ref> Recordings of Thug detailing his ideas for the video are played over the top of the track, accompanied by text that further explains how the shoot turned into an expensive catastrophe for 300 Entertainment.<ref>{{cite news|last1=Luk|first1=Darren|title=so you've gone viral: director ryan staake on life after his 'wyclef jean' video {{!}} read|url=https://i-d.co/article/so-youve-gone-viral-director-ryan-staake-on-life-after-his-wyclef-jean-video/|access-date=18 May 2017|work=i-D|date=March 14, 2017}}</ref> An altercation between Thug's camp and the LAPD even occurred during shooting so ''Pomp&Clout'' opted instead to use B-roll footage for the final video. Of the project, Staake said, "I was trying to deliver to make an interesting statement, but also fulfill a contractual obligation."<ref name="Ducker">{{cite magazine|last1=Ducker|first1=Eric|title=Young Thug 'Wyclef Jean' Director on How He Saved His Nightmare Shoot|url=https://www.rollingstone.com/music/features/young-thug-wyclef-jean-director-on-how-he-made-a-disaster-viral-w461487|accessdate=17 May 2017|magazine=Rolling Stone|date=January 17, 2017}}</ref><ref>{{cite news|last1=Nadia|first1=Jae|title=Young Thug's $100,000 'Wyclef Jean' Video That He Never Showed Up For|url=http://www.mtv.co.uk/the-wrap-up/blog/young-thugs-100000-wyclef-jean-video-that-he-never-showed-up-for|archive-url=https://web.archive.org/web/20170812173700/http://www.mtv.co.uk/the-wrap-up/blog/young-thugs-100000-wyclef-jean-video-that-he-never-showed-up-for|url-status=dead|archive-date=August 12, 2017|accessdate=13 May 2017|work=MTV|language=en}}</ref> The video received more than a million views in the first 24 hours after it was released on the internet<ref name="Ducker"/> and Staake, along with co-editor Eric Degliomini, won the 2017 MTV Video Music Award for Best Editing for their work on Wyclef Jean.<ref>{{Cite web|url=https://www.mtv.com/vma/vote/|title=Winners & Nominees by Category - VMA 2017 - MTV|website=MTV|access-date=2018-01-11}}</ref>
