The [[Rupert River|Rupert]], [[Nottaway River|Nottaway]] and [[Broadback River]]s empty into this bay.<ref name=CTQ>{{toponymie|85909}}</ref> The Cree village of [[Waskaganish]] is on the eastern shores of the bay.
