== Technical features == The Ruger Precision Rifle has a proprietary Pre-Fit barrel system. Pre-chambered "Drop-In Ready" barrels can be purchased, and the correct headspace is set using a proprietary barrel nut design. The barrel is threaded to fit the Ruger [[action threads]]. This way, a competent gunsmith only needs an [[AR-15 style rifle|AR-15]] barrel wrench and proper headspace gauges to fit a new barrel.<ref>[http://bulletin.accurateshooter.com/2017/11/new-krieger-pre-fit-barrels-for-ruger-precision-rifle/ New Krieger Pre-Fit Barrels for Ruger Precision Rifle « Daily Bulletin]</ref> This eliminates the need for machining by the gunsmith as with traditional barrel mounting solutions.{{Cn|date=February 2022}}

The RPR is compatible with AR-style handgrips, buttstocks and some types of handguards. The trigger is proprietary, but aftermarket triggers are available.<ref>{{Cite web|url=https://www.tactec.com/the-ruger-precision-rifle-review-is-it-worth-the-hype/|title=Ruger® Ruger Precision® Rifle Review|website=www.tactec.com|access-date=2023-04-24}}</ref>

The RPR uses 10-round detachable Magpul PMAG polymer magazines.<ref>{{Cite book |last=Sadowski |first=Robert |title=Gunn Trader's Guide |publisher=Skyhorse Publishing Inc. |year=2025 |isbn=978-1510784307 |edition=47th |pages=359}}</ref>
