The '''Roussoellaceae''' are a family of fungi in the order Pleosporales. As accepted by Wijayawardene et al. 2020;<ref name="Wijayawardene et al. 2020"/>
The family was introduced by Liu et al. in 2014 and originally contained ''Neoroussoella'', ''Roussoella'' and ''Roussoellopsis''.<ref name="Liu2014"/><ref>{{cite web |last1=Chethana |first1=Thilini |title=Roussoellaceae - Facesoffungi number: FoF 08360 |url=https://www.facesoffungi.org/roussoellaceae/ |website=Faces Of Fungi |access-date=5 October 2022 |date=20 September 2022}}</ref> It is a well-resolved family in the Pleosporales order.<ref name="Liu2014"/> Many species of the Roussoellaceae family have been described from terrestrial plants including bamboo,<ref name="Dai2017"/> palms and mangrove trees.<ref name="Devadatha2018"/><ref name="Jiang2019"/> It has also been found in the marine environment and found on the seagrass ''Posidonia oceanica'', with the green alga ''Flabellia petiolata'' and also the brown alga ''Padina pavonica'', which were all collected in the Mediterranean Sea.<ref name="Poli2020"/>
