The river passes through the [[Melville Hills]] and [[Tuktut Nogait National Park]] in the [[Northwest Territories]], before emptying into [[Amundsen Gulf]] at its juncture with [[Dolphin and Union Strait]], between Deas Thompson Point and Tysoe Point.
