==Life and career== Rober Haddeciyan was born on 26 January 1926 in the district of Bakırköy in Istanbul, Turkey, to Avedis Haddeciyan and Siranush.<ref name=Memoirs>{{cite book|last=Haddedjian|first=Rober|title=Kurtulushi Boghoda|year=2002|publisher=Marmara Ofset|location=Istanbul|pages=223|edition=1|language=Armenian}}</ref><ref name="Biography by Toros Toranian">{{cite book|last=Toranian|first=Toros|title=Amboghjkagan Gragete (The Complete Man of Letters)|year=2002|publisher=Cilician Bookstore & Publishing House|location=Aleppo|pages=107|language=Armenian}}</ref> He graduated from the Pangaltı Armenian Mkhitarist High School in 1944 and is an Istanbul University Faculty of Letters Department of Philosophy graduate.<ref>{{cite journal|last=Demir|first=Gul|title=Minority newspapers in Turkey - Nor Marmara|journal=Turkish Daily News|date=1 June 2004}}</ref> Haddeciyan, who was already working for ''Marmara'' as a journalist, became the editor-in-chief of the newspaper in 1967. His columns in ''Nor Marmara'' were translated into Turkish by his daughter-in-law Karolin Haddeler and published in the weekly Turkish supplement. He published 50 to 60 books.
