In the first leg of their quarter-final, Gallants drew 1–1 against Pyramids in Cairo. Chivaviro gave Gallants a 1–0 lead early in the second half, but Pyramids drew level with a stoppage time penalty. Gallants took on 2021–22 Tanzanian Premier League champions Young Africans in the two legged semi-finals.
