It comprises five units from 17 to 31 East Jones Street, and was completed in 1854.<ref>''Preservation: The Magazine of the National Trust for Historic Preservation'', Volume 52, Issues 4-6</ref><ref>''Sholes' Directory of the City of Savannah'', Volume 5 (1883)</ref> It is a contributing property of the Savannah Historic District, itself on the National Register of Historic Places.<ref name=mpc63>[https://www.thempc.org/docs/lit/hist/maps/supplement.pdf Historic Building Map: Savannah Historic District] – Historic Preservation Department of the Chatham County-Savannah Metropolitan Planning Commission (November 17, 2011), p. 63</ref> The row partly fills the block between Bull Street to the west and Drayton Street to the east.

The properties were built for Allen William Quantock by John Scudder.
