'''Psi Capricorni''' is a single,<ref name=Eggleton2008/> yellow-white hued star in the southern zodiac constellation of Capricornus. Its name is a Bayer designation that is Latinized from ψ Capricorni, and abbreviated Psi Cap or ψ Cap. This star is faintly visible to the naked eye with an apparent visual magnitude of +4.13.<ref name="MERMILLIOD"/> The distance to this star is approximately {{convert|47.7|ly|pc|abbr=out|lk=on}} based on parallax measurements,<ref name=GaiaDR3/> and it is drifting further away with a radial velocity of +20 km/s.<ref name=paas21_2_129/> The closest approach to the Sun occurred some 467,000 years ago at a separation of {{Convert|6.003|pc|ly|0|disp=out|abbr=off}}.<ref name=BailerJones2015/>
This object is an F-type main-sequence star with a stellar classification of F5 V.<ref name=aaa523_A73/> It is 2.3 billion years old with 1.35 times the mass of the Sun.<ref name=Harada2024/> The measured rotational velocity of this star is approximately 41 km/s<ref name="AmmlerVonEiff2012"/> (the Sun has an equatorial rotation velocity of 2 km/s). Analysis of the line profile of the star's spectrum indicates that it is undergoing differential rotation, with the variation by latitude being similar to the Sun.<ref name=aa376_L13/> The star has 1.49 times the Sun's radius and is radiating 3.77 times the luminosity of the Sun from its photosphere at an effective temperature of 6,589 K.<ref name=Harada2024/> It displays an infrared excess, suggesting the presence of an orbiting debris disk at a separation of {{Val|38.75|ul=AU}} and a temperature of 60 K.<ref name=Gáspár2016/>
==Chinese name== In Chinese, {{lang|zh|天田}} ({{lang|zh-Latn|Tiān Tián}}), meaning ''Celestial Farmland'', refers to an asterism consisting of ψ Capricorni, ω Capricorni, 3 Piscis Austrini, and 24 Capricorni.<ref>{{in lang|zh}} ''中國星座神話'', written by 陳久金. In R. H. Allen's version, this star represented the battle-axe Yue.<ref name=Allen1963/>
