'''ProTell''' (formally: "The Society for Liberal Weapons Rights"<ref name="HomePage"/>) is a Swiss gun-rights advocacy group based in Bern, Switzerland.
The association was founded in 1978 with the purpose of defending the right of law-abiding citizens to carry arms, and is opposed to any restrictions in this regard.<ref name="HomePage">{{cite web | title=Startseite - ProTell | url=http://www.protell.ch/de/ | publisher=ProTell.ch | accessdate=March 19, 2016}}</ref> Its name refers to the famous legend of Wilhelm Tell, shooting the apple off his son's head with a single arrow.<ref>{{cite web | last1=Nelson | first1=Soraya Sarhaddi | title=What's Worked, And What Hasn't, In Gun-Loving Switzerland | url=https://www.npr.org/2013/03/19/174758723/facing-switzerland-gun-culture | date=March 19, 2013 | publisher=NPR | accessdate=March 19, 2016}}</ref> ProTell reports some 8500 members as of 2016.<ref>[http://www.tagesanzeiger.ch/schweiz/standard/eklat-bei-waffenlobby-pro-tell/story/28781345 tagesanzeiger.ch] 12 September 2016</ref> This corresponds to some 6.4% of the number of registered shooters in the ''Schweizer Schiesssportverband''.
