The island is situated in Peel Sound, between the [[Prince of Wales Island, Nunavut|Prince of Wales Island]] and [[Somerset Island (Nunavut)|Somerset Island]].

Prescott Island is oval-shaped, and has an area of {{convert|412|km2|abbr=on}}.
