Preachers Son was formed in 2010 by Brian Hogan, the son of a preacher.<ref name=HotPressArchiveScPr>{{cite news|last1=O Hare|first1=Colm|title=Scripture Perfect|url=http://www.hotpress.com/archive/7337476.html|access-date=5 August 2014|publisher=Hot Press|date=29 November 2010}}</ref> He grew up listening to groups like Black Sabbath, Jimi Hendrix, Led Zeppelin, and Neil Young. Preachers Son's debut album was released independently in 2010.
