The '''Place Gutenberg''' is a small public square in Strasbourg, France. It is named for German inventor Johannes Gutenberg (c. 1400–1468), who lived in Strasbourg in the 1430s and 1440s. A bronze statue of Gutenberg, the work of sculptor David d'Angers, has stood in the centre of the square since 1840.<ref>{{Cite book |last=Blades |first=William |url=https://www.google.com/books/edition/Numismata_typographica_or_The_medallic_h/l1W3HBAZ1lQC?hl=en&gbpv=1&dq=history+of+place+gutenberg+strasbourg&pg=PA45&printsec=frontcover |title=Numismata typographica; or, The medallic history of printing |date=1883 |publisher="Printers' Register" Office |pages=45 |language=en}}</ref> The square was formerly named the '''Place Saint-Martin'''.<ref>{{Cite web |title=Place Gutenberg |url=https://int.strasbourg.eu/place/-/entity/sig/1200_ESP_13 |access-date=2026-02-09 |website=int.strasbourg.eu |language=en-US}}</ref>
