It is composed of three villages: Pir, Piru Nou (''Kispér''), and Sărvăzel (''Peleszarvad'').
==Demographics== At the 2002 census, the commune had a population of 1,769; of those, 54.77% were Hungarians, 36.4% Romanians, and 8.81% Roma.<ref>[http://www.edrc.ro/recensamant.jsp?regiune_id=2140&judet_id=2447&localitate_id=2488 Romanian census data, 2002]; retrieved on March 23, 2010</ref> According to mother tongue, 60.71% of the population spoke Hungarian, while 39.11% spoke Romanian as their first language.
